Community Citizen Partners

Are you passionate about health and well-being and access to services in Timiskaming and area?  Get involved by joining our Community Council. Timiskaming Ontario Health Team’s Community Council ensures that the voices of patients, families, and caregivers are central to decision-making. This council plays a vital role in shaping policies, programs, and services to reflect the needs of our diverse communities.

As a member you may have opportunity to:

  • Provide input on health and social programs and services through a variety of opinions
  • Participate in working groups on a specific health topics
  • Respond to surveys or attend focus groups, group discussions
  • Participate in community council and collaboration council meetings

Your Voice Matters. The voices of community members are crucial to the success of the Timiskaming Ontario Health Team and help shape the future of local health and social care!

Community members include the mental health and addictions community, Indigenous Nations, the Francophone community, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and/or people with living with dementia, chronic disease (diabetes, COPD), palliative conditions. Caregivers, family and peers of these important groups are also needed.

Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per month (virtual or in-person meetings).
Support Provided: Financial compensation, travel assistance, and training.

Clinician Partners

Get involved as a clinical partner by joining TOHTs Primary Care Network. Becoming a member of the TOHT Primary Care Network allows primary care providers a more robust opportunity to inform system decisions as an effective system partner.

A Timiskaming Ontario Health Team Primary Care Network Council has been established. The council consists of a Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner Representative for each Primary Care Clinic  including Temagami and all of Timiskaming from Latchford to Kirkland Lake.  The TOHT Primary Care Network Council (PCNC) acts as a collective voice for primary care providers throughout Timiskaming and the surrounding region and is dedicated to co-designing a better primary care system for our community and for providers.

As we continue to transform, you will experience efforts to strengthen engagement and streamline communication. We aim to include a diversity of primary care voices from across the Timiskaming Ontario Health Team region. We are excited for the opportunity to include your voice in the TOHT PCNC.
